You’ll definitely be able to leave every other car on the road in your tracks when you drive the new Camaro ZL1. This is the most powerful Camaro ever built, with jaw-dropping performance technologies and design, as well as state-of-the-art engineering. Best of all, the new Camaro also has a stunning exterior. What’s not to like?
According to Chevy, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 performance is better than ever thanks to a smart powertrain. The 650-horsepower V8 is supercharged, helping the Camaro to do 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. That’s nearly two seconds less than the 1LE. Plus, with a quarter mile of 11.4 seconds at 127 mph, you won’t want to leave the driver’s seat.
“Building on Chevrolet’s well-established recipe for track-focused performance, the new 1LE packages expand the performance envelope of the Camaro SS and, for the first time, the Camaro LT,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “You’ll be hard-pressed to find more track-capable cars in their respective classes for the money.”
Despite its muscle-car heritage, the new Camaro ZL1 isn’t just a massive engine strapped to a skimpy frame. Engineers also cut 220 pounds in weight to help increase speed and acceleration, not to mention fuel economy and handling.
This model also has a tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride damping and a limited-slip differential. There are few models that can give you this much performance without spending a fortune. Get a working-class supercar—get the Chevy Camaro ZL1.
The Chevrolet Malibu is made with safety in mind. This model comes with intelligent engineering to protect you in the event of a crash, advanced airbags, strategic crumple zones, and high-strength steel. Plus, the Malibu comes with smart driver assist technologies to help prevent accidents in the first place. For new drivers, the Malibu is also safe thanks to the innovative Teen Driving Safety system.
Face the Facts
According to Chevy, the Chevrolet Teen Driver system premiered in the 2016 Malibu. This tool provides parents with a high-tech tool to help encourage safer driving habits for their teenagers, even if parents aren’t in the car. Fatal crash rates for teenagers are nearly three times higher than drivers over twenty, making the new Teen Driver system more important than ever before.
Basically, Teen Driver monitors driving, records information, and automatically activates safety systems like automatic collision braking or forward collision alert. Teens are given a special key that activates the system upon ignition. The in-car system then begins to record speed, distance travelled, safety feature alerts, and the number of times ABS and stability control were activated. Teen Driver lets you track this information from home.
“We designed this to be used as a teaching tool,” said MaryAnn Beebe, a Chevrolet safety engineer. “It gives the teen a chance to prove to mom and dad, ‘Hey, I’ve been driving responsibly,’ and if there are things on the report that need discussion — if your teen has had the car for a week and comes back with seven forward collision alerts — then maybe there is an opportunity to talk about areas where maybe the teen could use some improvement.”

Teen Driver also activates driver assist technologies to make sure your teen is safe. It can mute the radio if seats are not buckled, and it allows for a maximum volume setting to reduce distractions. Drivers also get warnings if you exceed pre-set maximum speeds (which can be set from 40 to 75 mph). This is just one more way Chevy is keeping its drivers safe.
